About the Role
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to train frontier models on high-quality legal reasoning data. We're hiring Transactional and Corporate Attorneys to design realistic deal scenarios, evaluate model outputs against established legal and commercial standards, and help shape how the next generation of AI reasons about M&A, contracts, securities, and corporate governance.
We welcome M&A associates and partners, in-house transactional counsel, corporate generalists, and senior associates in transactional practices. Specialists in IP transactions, real estate, or tax are encouraged to apply via the matching specialty listing where available.
What You'll Do
Design realistic deal scenarios drawn from your transactional practice (M&A due diligence, SPAs/APAs, securities filings, NDAs, governance, disclosure schedules)
Write "golden" reference responses at attorney-level quality
Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics
Provide written feedback the research team uses to improve model behavior
Participate in onboarding office hours and specialty calibration sessions
You're a Good Fit If You
Have 1–4 years of professional experience in transactional or corporate law at a law firm, in-house legal department, or similar
Hold a J.D. (U.S.) or LL.B./LL.M. from an accredited law school
Are licensed to practice law in the U.S.(active or inactive)
Have strong experience with contract review, due diligence, corporate governance, NDA drafting, or securities filings
Demonstrate excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail
Bonus Qualifications
Disclosure schedules or closing checklists experience
Private equity, venture capital, or fund formation exposure
SEC reporting or securities offering experience
Familiarity with virtual data rooms (Intralinks, Datasite, etc.)
Role Highlights
Minimum 15 hours per week (ideally 40+)
Fully remote — must be based in the United States.
Role starts immediately, applications reviewed on a rolling basis
